On Friday night, team Kuna wrestled Bullcatcher with a Novice and Schoolboy team. Competing in Folkstyle, the Novice team had a great match winning several matches and the Schoolboy team winning most all of there matches. It was a fun time for all and a great start for the Folkstyle Duels. Friday evening was loaded with Greco matches, and a full day of Freestyle Saturday.

This was the first annual Idaho Ultimate Challenge event. Isaac Carreno, Jacob Barton, and Zack Velez wrestled hard and all had a tough tournament. Kuna Classic Wrestling Tournament

> > > > That was Big!!! Thanks to all that came and competed at the 2008 Kuna Classic. 700 entries competed in the Greco & Freestyle wrestling tournament this year! Most of the clubs that traveled any distance brought some of the finest wrestlers in their region and the wrestling was fantastic. Challenges were set and the fights were on!
One of the highlights at this years tournament was our own Jacoby Peterson winning the Overall Outstanding Wrestler award. In the Novice 65 lbs weight class, Jacoby pinned more opponents than any other wrestler in all of the tournament. Great job Jacoby!!!
In the club/team competition, the Kuna Wrestling Club takes another **1st** place team trophy!!! The runner up at this years Kuna Classic was the Idaho Rattlers, winning the 5'x10'x4" throw mat. Congratulation to Kuna wrestling and the Idaho Rattlers.

The WIWA freestyle/greco opening tournament in Homedale, Idaho had a great turnout and many of the valley's best wrestlers attending. This Rocky Mountain National event brings together some of the West's toughest wrestlers and large numbers of California kids. Jacob Barton, wrestling at 65 lbs - Midget, had a great tournament placing 2nd overall the hard way. He stomped through the championship bracket with three pins then lost a tough match with the eventual champion. Winning through the consolation rounds, he then competed for the challenge back or true second, and defeated his opponent 6-3.

> > > > Michael Cook and Dakota Wall traveled to Pennsylvania competing in the Brute National Series Tournament. After visiting the Independence Hall Visitor center in Philadelphia PA, and checking out some American history, they wrestled some of the finest wrestlers in the Northeast.
Both wrestling very tough matches throughout the day and placing 4th and 2nd. Dakota Wall also received a special award for Most Valuable Wrestler. This award goes to athletes that exhibit the characteristics of a sportsman on and off the mat. After their day on the mat, a visit to Hershey World and a small treat reward for their battles was next. Congratulations boys!!! An excellent trip and highly recommended!!!

> > > > First tournament of 2008 is in the bank & history. Roads, rain, snow, and 25-40 mph winds made for long trips. Kuna traveled to the Hermiston and Redmond Oregon Classic Qualifiers. Wrestlers needed to place in the top three to qualify for the Oregon Classic Jan. 12-13. With only the hard core traveling, wrestling was tough!!! Good job Kuna and good luck at the Classic!!!
